The hitherto general director for Southern Europe is promoted to the EMEA position to lead the sales of a total of 21 countries.


Liferay, provider of the leading Open Source platform for creating digital experiences, has announced the appointment of two Vice Presidents of Sales for EMEA, one of them the Spanish Carolina Moreno. From his new position, Moreno will have responsibility for commercial operations not only in Southern Europe, where he has also held the general management since 2016 (for Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Cyprus), but also that new territories are added such as the DACH region (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) and the EEC countries (Central and Eastern Europe), adding a total of 21 additional countries.

Moreno assumes from his new position the challenge of the commercial development of the company in the countries of his responsibility, using the strategic positioning of the brand and the current dynamism of the digital experiences market, in full swing and growth. It will also be responsible, together with the rest of the management team in the region, of boosting market share in EMEA, the geographical area with the largest presence of Liferay outside the US borders.

Senior Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Moreno began his career at the international operator Vodafone, where he worked for several years in different departments of the area of ​​network engineering and planning.

Subsequently, he coordinated several national and international projects related to free software and international cooperation where he combined his teaching work in the Systems and Communications Group of the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid. In 2009 she joined Liferay, to fill the position of director of business development at Liferay Spain and Portugal. In 2012 he assumed the General Directorate for this territory and since 2016, the General Directorate of Southern Europe.
