The latest data indicates that it continues to fall but does so at a slower pace. As can be seen from the figures published by the consultancy IDC for the tablets industry in the second quarter of 2017 , during that period 37.9 million units were marketed, representing a year-on-year decrease of 3.4% . Of course, it should be noted that although it is a negative fact, it supposes a significant brake to the decline of last year , when the fall reached 12.3%. Regarding the battle of brands, the leadership is for Apple , which managed to sell 11.4 million units of the iPad , a fact that implies a advance of 11.4% compared to Q2 in 2016. In the second place is Samsung , which barely has changes (-0.8% market share), after reaching 6 million units marketed, identical figure to that obtained last year in the same period. In third position highlights the rise of Huawei , which last year between April and June managed to sell 2.1 million units of tablets and in 2017 ended the same quarter with 3 million of units ( + 47.1% ). The fourth in the IDC ranking is Amazon , which goes from 1.6 million units to 2.4 million units , which is a high 51.7% improvement . Finally, Lenovo has a slight recoil (-14.6%) , and drops from 2.5 million units to 2.2 million of units .
