The popular messaging application will stop offering support next week on some mobile platforms.

 

WhatsApp has remembered the identity of the operating systems for which already will not offer any more updates as of December 31, 2017 .

Specifically, the application owned by WhatsApp has decided to withdraw support on BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone 8.0 , which implies that, although it will continue to work on those platforms, it does not will support new installations in those versions.

From the company they have pointed out that it was not an easy decision to make, while highlighting that some functions could stop working at any time, and recommend affected users to bet on smartphones that at least have Android 4.0, Windows Phone 8.1, or iOS 7.0 .

On the other hand, it has also been explained that the terminals governed by Nokia S40 will abandon support for WhatsApp on December 31, 2018 , and the versions Android 2.3.7 and earlier will run the same fate on February 1, 2020 .
